Cindy Needham has an article in the July 2009 issue of American Quilter Magazine that might help you. She gave a tip to be sure the quilting designs go "underneath" the embroidery. She machine quilts these beautiful old embroidered linens. Judy in Torrance

I have 4 blocks with scriptures on them embroidered by hand with embroidery floss. How should I quilt them? I plan on machine quilting the rest of the quilt. Suggestions are needed.

I could underline them with thread that matches the white background. I like the idea of a cross hatching pattern that stops short of quilting the words. I can't really visualize anything.\
