TOPIC: TWELVE quilts??!!

31 Aug 2008 20:53 #25224

Hi Jan
your photos will scan into the computer with no problems and they look fine. i do not have a digital camera so all my snapshots are onm photo paper. if you look at me profile you can see the quality of the photos that i have uploaded, i think they look fine although i am sure digital photos would be better. the only problem that i have with my old fashioned camera is sometimes i have to wait months to use up the reel of film before it can be processed

Gloria, I feel your pain! Take a deep breath and try again tomorrow. I can totally relate because I spent 4 days trying to update our portable GPS system! :x It was horrible. And so was your experience. But don't give up - like I said, try again tomorrow.

I just down loaded a bunch of pictures from my camera including my latest project for the quilting bee. It went into adobe photoshop but I hadn't registered the photo shop so it wouldn't let me access the photos. I tried to register and it came up with an error. Now I can't access the photos and I deleted them from the camera. They can probably hear me screaming on the other side of the pond. That will teach me to try something without techy children around. I'm going to try and calm down and try it again. Gloria ready to throw in the towel and admit to being a neanderthal.

I am still trying to hunt down a picture of the quilt I made for my sister a couple of years ago. Margo's right! If I have made labels for all of them.... and took pictures and put into a quilt journal, I would be on top of all this info. But nooooooooo..... I always put off what I can do later... well, it's now "later" and I am hunting to try and recreate history :?

I'm with you, Mary Kay  I've been searching for photos of quilts that have been given as gifts. I'm sure I labeled them, but...
photos? I've found a few snapshots - you know- the ones on real photo paper. Remember them? LOL. I'm not too sure about scanning those prints into the computer (what they'd look like).
I'll do better documentation from now on. Aren't digital cameras wonderful?!

profiles and quilt gallery 30 Aug 2008 14:09 #25146

Marge, I could not agree with you more. The generic male or female face tells us nothing about a member. And one of the best things about this site is all the new friends I have made. Just this morning I got e mails from two people that I should be able to meet when I go to La Veta (one from England and one from La Veta itself) how cool, and where else would that ever happen. Thank you ARJJ and TQS you have enrichened my life in so many ways, Ann

Its is so much fun to look at all the quilts in the profiles. Now if we could just get everyone to post photos, we would have a truly amazing quilt show to enjoy. There are 31,030 members. That would be 372,360 quilts if everyone posted 12! ( I have to admit I used a calculator to come up with that!). I just wish more would post their photos and make this the best and biggest quilt show ever. Marge

I posted another 6 quilts last night and now have 11 in my profile - how fun!!! (Thanks to all my TQS buddies who dropped me a note complimenting my early works!!!!!!!)

I am still trying to hunt down a picture of the quilt I made for my sister a couple of years ago. Margo's right! If I have made labels for all of them.... and took pictures and put into a quilt journal, I would be on top of all this info. But nooooooooo..... new quilts 27 Aug 2008 19:16 #25013

This week has been almost as exciting when I first joined (Jan 07) the number of new quilts is phenomenal but unfortunately I see a lot of the names who have been here all along.

Hey newbies, It is easy to add a quilt and no one has ever been nasty (at least to me) mostly I have gotten really good feedback and information. Plus since I may never have nerve enough to enter a major show this is a place where others can see my quilts.

The inspirations that I have gotten from other people's quilts is amazing. I have come up with many ideas from others quilts. Not copies just inspiration.

So PLEASE JOIN IN AND POST YOUR QUILTS.

(I have an ulterior motive- I want to win the Rhapsody- so truth in advertising exists here) LOL

I've been AWOL for a bit because of deadlines and was tickled pink to see the new spaces for more quilts. I was afraid it happened weeks ago and here it's brand new!!
Cool! :D

I just checked out the Quilt Gallery, and it was so much fun to see names that I recognize! I can see that a lot of my TQS friends are taking advantage of the new spaces.
