I used Soft Fuse on my 2012 BOM and have cut it in layers, both with the Cutwork tool on my Bernina and with scissors, and have done 4 layers at a time. I remove the paper backing from the Soft Fuse, except on the bottom layer. You could stitch around the edge of the pieces when it's layered then cut with scissors. Most of mine I did in a hoop, but did try it the other ways also. If you remove the backing, you just have to be careful when separating the layers, but it does work. I've also pinned the layers together when I had only one or two I had to cut out. Fi

What happens when you are only using the softfuse around the edges is that it is not as easy to keep all the shapes together. I think it would require too many stables and defeat the point. I don't know, I am sure that there is something I am missing.

The only reason I asked was that in the instructions it say you can make multiples. I have never used the product either but the ladies at the quilt shop where I bought it just raved about it. Looking forward to getting caught up, I didn't get started until May!
