Introducing the 2013 TQS Block of the Month designed by Sue Nickels and Pat Holly! It's called "TWO OF US" and was created by the two of them. The quilt measures 79" x 79" and was completed just in time for Houston.

Thanks Sherry...after ordering the Shades, I racked my brain as I was sure I bought some to try when I was in Houston a year and a half ago. Yay! I found it finally, mislabeled as Steam a Seam. That will teach me to be more efficient in my storage methods. I had bought a yard of it to try and it somehow got separated from the info sheet. I've started cutting my shapes and will have more than enough with the extra I ordered. It definitely OS much softer than Steam a Seam lite. Can't wait to start stitching it.

Softfuse is my favorite fusible and is the softest I've found. I haven't been able to find it in any of our regional shops so usually stock up when I am at a major quilt show like Houston. However, I have also ordered from their web site when necessary.

I am in Canada and buy Shades SoftFuse at my local quilt store. Glad you could get it at a reasonable price. I find shipping to Canada usually way more than the cost of what I want to buy! :(

After a bit more googling, was able to order it from Sue Nickel's webstore. I also ordered the Roxanne's silver pencils and sharpener for marking the quilt. Shipping was reasonable, woo hoo! Excited to get going on the appliqué. I was pretty mystified about the color choices for this quilt, but now that I have laid it out, it is looking fabulous.

Margo, I love the overlay method for placing appliqué. I use it for needle turn appliqué all the time, very cool method. BTW Sue and Pat's machine appliqué book is very helpful.

Thanks, have sent them an email, shipping on most of the websites I checked was more than the value of the product. Is it really much softer than Steam a seam lite?

I used Shades Softfuse on my 2012 BOM. When I couldn't find it in the roll rather than sheets, I called them to see about ordering some. After confirming nobody locally carried it, I was able to order what I needed directly from them.

I've spent enough, so am using the Steam A Seam 2 lite that I have on hand. I wondered about the change in heart about brand of fusible.

Have you checked with the folks who designed the product? http://www.shadessoftfuse.com/

You might check to see if they ship to Canada. http://www.shadessoftfuse.com/contact.html

Does anyone know where to buy this stuff, I am in Canada and can't find it anywhere. From the instructions, sounds like it would be softer than using Steam a Seam Lite, has anyone tested it to see if it is much different?
