More precise than the star icon on the forum of this site. Much missed for sure....and some really missing the things bookmarked on the old site. For instance..6months from now I might not remember where to find the reference to your sticky mat...if marked..easy peasy !

Tribblemom OFFLINE Posts: 327 Thank you received: 158	Hmmm... now I see that the big red X is supposed to mean that the topic is closed, but it is not closed. I guess it is not linked to the actual button that locks a topic. The icons do draw attention to some topics and makes them easier to find. But don't get carried away with giving every topic an icon.

I entirely echo this Lady's comments. Navigation around the site is a bit of an adventure to say the least - its a bit of a magical mystery tour. This only thing I prefer from this new site is the search box facility for previous episodes/techniques. I know things need freshening up from time to time - but this new site doesn't give the satisfaction of the old one. I am sorry - I know someone has put a lot of work into this but there's something to be said for 'if it ain't broke - don't fix it'. I remember reading somewhere that the old technology for the previous site was creaking under the strain - but I'm sorry - I don't like this new site.

Thanks! I see what you're talking about now. Wendy is right, that's an icon you can attach to a topic when you create a new one. When I created a topic suggesting that they put a link to our gallery quilts on our profile pages so that everyone can see all of our quilts and the information about them, I gave it a light bulb icon since I thought it was an idea. There's something like 5 icons you can choose.

Well THANK YOU! I've been wondering about that lightbulb, X and an exclamation point things for awhile now!
