Has anyone used the chain stitch option on a cover stitch machine for piecing a quilt? I've been watching a few videos of various people teaching quilting using this stitch, and was wondering how sturdy that stitch would be, since it can be so easily torn out. I was thinking it might work since all the seams are ultimately enclosed thus protected in the batting and backing. They do the piecing as well as some quilting on the cover stitch machine. It's intriguing because it moves along so quickly.
