my local quilt shop has a Martelli mat that wore out a lot faster than an Olfa ever did. It is purple, that might make a differene.

I am interested in purchasing for our guild 3 very large cutting mats. The question is which brand?
Martelli is a top notch brand but much too expensive.
I have heard that Horn mats wear out.
Olfa wears out and bends in the heat.
Someone gave us a large rolled mat (not the Big Mat, but is clear and looks similar). We can not get it to go flat after trying sun, hair dryers, heavy books, etc.
Any thoughts? Susan
