My thanks, also! I'd been wondering where to get these since I'm working on my first quilt that will hopefully go in a show, but I hadn't seen them in a store. I've sent in my order and can't wait to receive them!

thanks for the tip, I love purchasing American made products and am seriously considering a kit of thread & needles for my machine quilting classes. I was wondering how these work.

I like to use a self-threading needle to bury my machine quilting threads. I prefer the spiral-eye type. I can bury a lot of threads (good tv time lapwork) with ease. However I do NOT recommend using the needles for hand quilting. The needles are expensive and pushing the eye with a thimble weakens the metal. I learned this when I tried to "push" a needle through my quilt (it was stuck) with a thimble. I finally retrieved the damaged needle with a needle puller; the eye was bent and I had to discard the needle.

The needles are manufactured in Minnesota. According to the website, there is a cheaper version which is mass-produced in China. I ordered the American-made needles again...sigh. :)
