Sue, I know what you are talking about. I can't remember who has it but I saw it not too long ago. I will think on it and see if I can figure out where I saw it.

I have also seen those muslin pre printed with quilting designs. They are sold at a local sewing shop here, but I think they are marketed more as wholecloth quilts there. The place is Fabric and Foam in Fairmont WV - they do not have a website as far as I know but you might be able to contact them and order one. This is not a quilt shop per say, but a very friendly and helpful all purpose sewing shop. Next time I go I will have a look and see if they still have them.

Sorry yes, calico is the English word for muslin.

I saw a off-white muslin backing with quilting marks on it that were made to wash out. Are you referring to the same fabric when you say calico? It was at Hancock's of Paducah a few years ago. They are wonderfully helpful and if you contact them, I'm sure they would tell you if they still have it.

No not a wholecloth, but using the same technology though.

I think I've seen whole-cloth quilts where the design is pre-printed, maybe that's what you're thinking of? Of course, I don't know WHERE I might have seen it, but those terms might help if you google it? Florence

Did I imagine seeing this? I thought you could now buy a calico coloured quilt backing with a design printed on it which you can quilt and then the markings wash out?

If you know what the brand is or where to buy iy, please put me out of my misery.
