I caught one of my sons securing a large cardboard box with my tape measure when he was moving out. I let him go, and then insisted that he'd buy me a new tape measure - a much better and more expensive one (I still use it - about seven years later). :)

I may need to buy one since my cat "TC" loves to play with tape measures. He digs them out of the drawers or cupboards so they have to be hidden well. That darn cat - gotta love him he is sooooo special. Bobbi

Don't laugh too loudly but I had to buy a new tape measure because (1) I can never find mine when I need it and (2) I can never find mine when I need it!

Anyhow, I picked up a Fons and Porter one because of a local sale going on and I am in love with it. I know it's silly -- it's just a soft tape measure, but the markings and numbers are very easy to read and in a deep red color. The background color of the tape measure is a pale color so the red really pops off it.

The back of the tape measure is even more wonderful in that it has straight marks at every inch marking. There are no numbers to read just the markings and then it includes the yardage markings (1/8 yard, 1/4 yard, etc.

I have used the tape measure many times today (front and back) and it's just awesome. I just had to tell someone else who may be shopping for a new tape measure soon.
