Kudo's to DH for thinking of this one!
Even tho' I have a "big board" for ironing, I needed a surface that was even bigger. Long story short, I'm doing a circular medallion using the 'quick circle' technique, which involves freezer paper & glue sticks. I've done lots of these & love the technique, so am trying to adapt it to this 24" circle (this is concentric circles, so I already did it for a 12" & 16", so far, so good) but my 'big board' is only 22" wide. I've got to make sure everything is lined up, so I need to be able to do the whole thing at once. So I'm thinking maybe a scrap of plywood on a card table, make an ironing cover with an old sheet & batting. UGH, what a pain! Or do I dare iron on the wood floors?
:?
So I mention this to DH, and he very quickly thinks of a round table-topper we have, which converts a card table to a round table which seats 6. I think I've used it twice. But today it earned its stripes! He dug it out of the basement, and it's vinyl on one side and felt on the other. The intent is felt-side down to grip the card table, but we flipped it up, covered it with an old sheet and bingo! :D
I never before imagined a round ironing board!
If I can get my camera to work I'll post a pic!
