The DMC embroidery thread is the same as the floss, except only one strand instead of the 6. I have used the machine embroidery thread for hand embroidery and it works fine.

thanks for the answers but what i wanted to know is can i use the machine embroidery thread to sew on the applique. i plan on using embroidery floss for the fancy stitches. thanks.

When I do crazy quilting, I use two strands of embroidery floss. I don't think you'll get the look you want with machine embroidery thread. If you look at my profile, there is my Crazy About Mardi Gras quilt. That is done with embroidery floss. The center flowers are silk ribbon.

If it is strong enough to go thru your machine--it should be wonderful for hand work.

some embroidery thread for a machine , could i use this thread in
