JUST ordered my first bottle to test it out.... AMAZON has gallon jugs of it if I like it

I am leery of strange chemicals so I have to read the bottle label before I spend big money on gallon jugs.

I used RICKY TIMs STABLE STUFF as it is more like a batting and it stabilizes the fabric
Terial Magic and starches are more for stabilizing so you can cut accurately not strong enough to keep bobbin thread from coming up or tension problems.

The reason I now label the backing is my grandniece's quilt was stolen ... but we caught the thief and was able to prove the quilt was ours by documentation on line and with photographs of the process of making the quilt. The thief had taken the label off the back of the quilt. He could have gotten charged with Grand Larceny as I told the judge it was worth over $5000 dollars .... materials / manufacturing and my time at $35 hour.

( I do not quilt for other people but I get asked all the time. I wrote up a invoice of my charges and that stops people from asking me to make them a quilt.)

:S

Lady Rags,
That’s a super idea.
Have you ever used Terial Magic to stabilize fabric to thread sketch on? I’ve read about it, but haven’t tried it yet,,,, lol
I hope others put up pictures and descriptions of their labels, I have to admit that I use a permanent labeling pen and just sign my name and a date most often.

My current method for my quilt label ... THREAD PAINTING on the backing .... this is a message to my sister in Italian.... I also have names, location and date on the back.

It was a fun technique ...I draw lines on the background fabric using crayola washable makers... then I thread sketched the words ... going over the lines 3 to 5 times to make is stand out. I used RICKY TIMS STABLE STUFF to stablize the fabric so I could sew on it.... Stable Stuff disappears into the batting when washed / blocked. I had tried pre drawing the words on my fabric but it made it hard to sew the letters... found just writing out the words with my FMQing much easier and I think the letters came out nicer.
