I forgot to mention that this was a raffle quilt we saw at the Virginia Quilt Museum last summer. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you had seen it there. Delightful museum if you haven't been there. I wish I lived closer.

Peggy, that is a beautiful quilt. Please show us the fabric you choose and pictures during the quilt making progress. We are so nosy aren't we? ;) ;)

I have been planning on a civil war quilt for several years, but I did not start it yet. Mine is going to be more of an autograph style block, but the names I will add. I want to use all the names in my great uncle's civil war unit. I was able to find a list of names online. I want to put the regimental flag in the center. I still need to order a picture of the flag. When finished I plan on donating it to the historical society in Marshall Co., Indiana. I just don't know how soon I can get to it.

I recently was able to get the pattern for this quilt to make for my daughter. It was a block of the month for Marcus fabrics back in 2011 or so. Wondering if anyone has made this and has any helpful tips or advice that they wish they had known before starting this. I still need to figure out how much of various fabrics to get, which the pattern didn't include, but that's not a huge deal. We're just in the process of starting to look at material, which will be a lengthy process as she lives in Virginia and I'm in Idaho. At any rate, wondering if anyone has done this one? Here's a picture. Peggy in Idaho
