Ellen,
I have a New Home My Excel. Still sews beautifully. I recommend that you contact a Janome dealer who has been around for awhile to ask about a circular attachment for it. They can call their supplier if they don't already know.
My second choice would be to try the Nancy's Notion Circles Sew Simple attachment. I could not do a link for some reason, but google Nancy's Notion Circles Sew Simple. It looks well thought out, but maybe not too sturdy. Check out the video.

I find electrical tape works better than masking tape which moves too easily. There is a circular attachment that you can get from Nancy's Notions which works on any machine I think.

Ellen, you can create one, I had an old machine, you take an office pin (with flat head that you can glue with masking tape on the table of you machine (the pin is upside down) the pin should be in one line with the needle. the distance from the needle to the pin is the radius of your circle.
I hope you understand.
good luck dear.

I have an old Janome machine, it is called a New Home and the model is My Excel 23L. Does anyone know if there is a compatible circular attachment for this machine ? So appreciate any information you have concerning this matter. Hugs..Ellen
