I did a quick draw of it in EQ last month and colored it using the default palette. It's not quite to scale but is close. I drew it as a miniature of 20". I don't plan on making the quilt as my schedule is too full right now but just wanted to see if I could draft it. I saw the pattern at a quilt show for $30. Was tempted to buy it but changed my mind.

I meant the "drafting myself" part... You are right, it is a Mariner's compas.... sort of...

Just thinking, why do we need permission to draft a block that has been made by many, many people before? We doodled this star on papers in elementary school. Peggy Martin has it on Craftsy as we speak. I don't intend, or want, to get into a whole discussion about copyright because that's about beating a dead horse, just saying.

No can't see mistake unless you wanted the colours organised differently. It's fabulous. :D

Lois why not ask her for permission to draft it yourself?

That's what I intend to do....

Lynn -

That is definitely a design opportunity! I'll be interested to see if you can find a way to work your mistake into the design. I can't think of anything so would probably redo it, but you are probably much more creative than I am!

I found the pattern available online just by googling her name. I am busy until early Sept. If at that time it looks like I could fit it in before 9/30 I will order it.

I would really like to make one too. I wish more patterns were available. Maybe on her website? How hard could it be to print more patterns? Just askin'!

Excuse me, but where is the mistake?

LOL. I made a mistake on my geese to, but I am not telling anyone. I cannot believe how careful I can be in making a mistake.

It's a very carefully thought out design plan!

When in doubt, rationalize!
