Rita, I certainly will. I'll be getting more fabric next week. Thank you for your comment on my quilts. I just started posting to my gallery. I'll be adding many more over time. Yours are fantastic as well!!

Well done for finding it Alice. I look forward to seeing what you do. Will you come back and show us when you are done - or even as you progress? I just had a look at your profile and your quilts are beautiful. Welcome to the forum. :D

I truly appreciate all of your input and the addition of similar quilt pictures!! Being a newcomer to the forum, I am pleasantly surprised!!

I found the pattern!! I emailed the lady who posted it on Pinterest. She replied that she only took the picture at a show, but also copied her message to me, the publisher of the magazine who sponsored the show. The publisher responsed with where to find the pattern!!! It's in Issue 8, Jan/Feb, 2014. It can be found at generationQMagazine.com.

Susan
That's a beautiful quilt. It looks more "controlled" though - the points on that skinny triangle all seem to match, i guess that's from the foundation. You are right, I shouldn't wait.

Oh Susan, I love that quilt. So you must have started off with a long skinny white triangle? Very effective.

I've never made anything red in my life, but I LOVE Rita's quilt. I think it's the contrast of the light and dark squares that really sets something off in my mind.

Here's a picture of the one I did for my son. The center was just drawn on fabric foundations from a kind of long skinny triangle.

Andree, why wait  This is like the 15 minutes a day of play! I do remember thinking while I was making this that I wanted more variety of fabrics, but I'd cut so many strips, that I think I've got enough left over for another forty quilts

I did something similar, but without the sashing which is lovely particularly with the triangles at the ends. It was from a craftsy class with Pepper Cory. We used an old phonebook to paper piece. Just cut the pages to the size you want (obviously it can't be any bigger than the width of the phone book, and I have found an ikea catalogue is good because it's square). I used the same fabric in the centre then put red on one side and pinks on the other. The thing about using the phonebook is that if you keep the papers on until you are assembling the whole thing then you won't have biases stretching on you too much. I think by putting the sashing strip on two sides like in the one you are thinking of doing that will illiminate the bias on two sides so you will only have two to worry about anyway. Good luck with it, it's a fun and quick process and very rewarding. Here's a photo of mine.

much too simple for paper piecing...there are no points to match, (except for that little hst), so here is another vote for normal piecing. Have fun with this one!
