I got a newsletter from The Pine Needle who has taken advantage of packaging batiks. I'd send the catchy newsletter to anyone who wants to see, but don't know how to put a link here.

http://www.pineneedlequiltshop.com/shop/category/fabric/pre-cut-fabric-staks/half-yard-packs/

Clicking on Nancy's link and then going to "Free Patterns", the Sochi quilt says "pattern coming soon".

Very interesting ! Thanks, Nancy! Hoffman Balis really have the colors, don't they ? but the pattern designs are
a big part of the Russian design. The diamond tutorial is really good..I've bookmarked that one...surely a scrappy
wonderment !! What fun that would be. :D :D :D Craftsy was great too....I hadn't seen a good photo of the snow-
boarder jackets...If folks saw what the kids wear on the slopes here they might not be so harsh on them !!

Those of you, who like this design, may like this "Bali Sochi" quilt --> https://hoffmanfabrics.com/content/content-image.asp?ImageID=1255

Also, there's a "Natural Facets" diamond quilt pattern in the Oct/Nov 2010 Issue of Quilter's Newsletter that I think looks even more like the Olympic patchwork design. However, the quilt design that I've seen to come closest to it can be found in this free tutorial here---> http://magnoliabayquilts.blogspot.com/p/60-degree-quilt-tutorial.html

Enjoy!

I wonder if Spoonflower would even print them, because they are so recognizable and surely copyrighted.

I think independent printing of these designs could lead to trouble !

You can create your own fabric design on your computer and have it printed by companies like Spoonflower. It is not expensive and would give you exactly what you want

I also love the snowboarding team's patchwork jackets. Check out this article about it here---> http://onboardmag.com/news/scene-news/burton-go-all-patchwork-quilt-for-the-team-usa-2014-olympic-snowboard-uniforms.html

I have dozens and dozens of thrifted men's shirts, so a similar fabric like this one would be much easier to replicate.

Enjoy,
Nancy

No one in my circle of friends and family seems to be as excited as I am about the diamond quilt theme. I jumped up and down when I saw it! It is FAB!

Funny thing, for me, I just bought fabric and pattern for a diamond quilt! Think I mentioned it elsewhere. Also taking Craftsy class with Jan Krentz on diamonds. well worth it!

Beautiful! Love their idea to display their regional art into the fabric. I too wish it was available for purchase. I would prefer yardage of each individual pattern to place in a quilt as I would like. I do love they their quilt, but just imagine what we could all come up with if we had the individual patterns. :) :)
