Thanks everyone! I would be happy to share the foundation pieced block plan if I could figure how. I used EQ7's Classic pieced Ladies Art Company Storm at Sea block if you have the program and just colored it in my own fabrics. Pepper Cory told me that it was a double sashed version of this classic block. So I went back and looked at the other available storm-at-sea blocks in EQ7--there are four--and she is right, but I decided it served my purposes best as it was. I don't think I could have done these any other way but foundation piecing. It has nine sections you piece first and they are then pieced together. I had to print out the image in color of the block and tape it to my table so I could reference it with every block, and still I made some wrong. I listened to the Lord of the Rings audio books and lots of stormy music while I pieced it.   Took many hours. :? And lots of unsewing. I'm sure a more practiced piecer could have done it faster and maybe without the foundation, but remember, I am not a traditional quilter. Now I hope I can complete the pictorial aspects like I see them in my head. :D

Love Storm At Sea! Challenging to piece though. I have to actually pay attention since it's not your mama's nine patch ;) Looks great!

Hi BJ. I tried to find the bo-bo on your newsletter, but saw it right away on this version. Good for you!

I thought I had finished my Storm at Sea "big wave" for my pictorial storm at sea quilt, but when I took the picture, I saw there was something not quite right. Fortunately, it's in a place I can fix it without pulling ALL my hair out. It took me forever to figure out why it looked wrong, and suddenly it dawned on me...the block itself is not only in the wrong direction, it has a section upside down. :D :D :D :D If you want to see how I'm going to use this, you can see it on my personal blog: http://blog.bjfabricartist.com/
