My very first quilt was paper pieced and my sister taught me--her method was pretty much what Carol Doak does and I never forgot how to do it. It's almost like riding a bike! Hope you'll show us your progress on your Storm at Sea design--the block is very pretty! Congratulations on mastering foundation paper-piecing!

I tried many times to do paper piecing and just couldn't get it to work well for me, and then I watched the Carol Doak's video on paper piecing. It helped me figure out just how to place things. This is just the right time for me because I'm making a pictorial quilt based on the Storm at Sea block that requires soemwhere between 6 and 10 blocks. It takes for-e-ver, but I was able to make one and have started on the next and the points look pretty good to me. Here's a picture (it is square, unlike the picture).
