I have the same problem. When I catch "whoever" keeps making more scraps, messing up my sewing room, etc. "Whoever" is going to be in big trouble! I am working with some 1/2 hexies right now--we will see what happens with them.

Thanks Ritzy, yes they are. I did them that size so that I could use up as many small scraps as possible. I think the scrap fairies have been using my sewing room as their dumping ground because the pile keeps growing no matter how many scrappy projects I do.

I use Bottom Line for my piecing too. Rita, it is lovely. Are those 3/4" hexies?

Aw thanks everybody! It's just a way of using up all those small scraps. It's a great take-along project because I can work on the elements individually and then add them to the whole quilt afterwards.

I thought I would mention just one other suggestion which is that you use a very fine thread to stitch the hexies together. I have been using bottom line in two different colours - cream and slate grey - that seems to blend in with most colours and the thread is so fine that it's much less noticeable. It might be even better to use a Masterpiece or a silk thread.

I think your choice using bottom line is very good. I find that Masterpiece is a bit too weak for a project like this.

Lois I am not exactly sure but I think it will be at least 64". I don't have a computer programme to work it out just a piece of graph paper with the coloured areas pencilled in. So I could be all wrong with my calculations. :D

After I finished working a little on my one tonight I took a photo and thought you might like to see it. It's about 48" wide so far. A bit of a way to go yet. Good luck with yours. :D

The picture was taken in night light so it's not so good - maybe I will take another one tomorrow.

Rita, your hexie quilt is beautiful. You say you have a way to go. How big is it going to be?

Looking fabulous, Rita! Getting along well!!!
I've been Lucky, while i got sidetracked making two quilts to be Sent to Oklahoma City, my mom's gotten in on the act and started sewing my little hexies together :)
I just glue the sides down, I use a regular glue stick, works well and very little mess as the glue goes where it's supposed to and dries quickly. It also washes out well, and if I need to open a side to adjust the alignment, it's very easy to do, moisten the side and it sticks down again ;)

I like Rita's so much, I'd put it on my rectangular table !

Guess Marilyn and I will have to arm wrestle for it. Or what would be the quilting equivalent ?
