I like the craftsy classes. I have done the BOM, Stupendous Stitching with Carol Ann Waugh, Scrap Quilting with Pepper Cory, and Design it Quilt it with Cindy Needham. I have learned things from all 4 classes. The BOM was free, the others I paid for. I will definitely do more classes in the future.

I took Angela Walters' Craftsy class and learned a lot. I too, had problems with the constant pausing to reload, which was extremely confusing and frustrating. I did click the HD "off" and it did help, but the next time I logged into Craftsy the HD was not on the screen at all (so I could not click it off). Finally, DH told me to let the video completely download and then watch it as a whole. I did this and it worked. It had been trying to download while I was trying to watch! Also, wait until the class has been online for a few weeks, then it may be a lot cheaper.

I really enjoy the classes, but was getting frustrated with the video. On my internet line at home, it was constantly pausing to load and it would take forever, so it became annoying to watch the classes. Then I saw a comment where someone who was having the same problem was told to turn off "HD" on the video by clicking on that icon in the control bar, and now everything plays great for me and I'm loving it. So, if you have a slower line, learn to turn off "HD" and things will be fine.

I am doing three classes now, and love them all. I have been busy lately, so haven't logged on recently, but you can watch in little bits, section by section. So far the teacher's comments and answer to my question have be very quick in coming and make sense. Go for the sales, if you just want to try something out, But I agree, for a permanent lesson, you can access at any time, it's worth it.

So far I've really liked their classes and the format. I'm thinking it might be good for you and your time online issues that they break the class into chapters. You can watch individual parts each day. You can ask the instructor questions and discuss things with the other members of the class too. I signed up for classes that were on a good sale, but they don't seem too expensive when compared to an in person class or a book.

I'll give my pennies worth although I'd not done other online classes to compare it with.

I really like that you can watch several samples before enrolling so you get an idea of the level, teacher's style and the content. Being able to interact with the teacher was good but I only really did that with the stupendous stitching one (new materials for me) and got quick answers. Having samples of other students work to look at really triggered ideas. I like that you can take notes and it marks where you made the comment.

I found the general ones disappointing, but there again they were free so I can't complain. Taking the first class last December really triggered my love of fabric and quilting again after a bit of the doldrums and with that and joining the forum I've not looked back.

Wait for the special offers and it's a lot cheaper. Go for it :D

What an idiot, I've done several classes on here now

Yes I have taken all the classes here... but I have been thinking of taking a class from CRAFTSY.
Has anyone done it? ...
What do you think of the format?
Did you learn a lot?
Any concerns I should know about ?
