I had heard about Patsy's stolen quilts on another site. My friend was robbed at a rest stop not far from Corbin, Kentucky by a group of 5-6 young men. I had gone into the building to use the bathroom and when I returned to the car, my friend told me he had been robbed. The group was quick and well-coordinated, since I was only in the building for a short time. There were several semi's parked close together and the group was throwing dice on the ground between the semi's when I went in. I had seen the men but I tried to mind my own business. We called the sheriff and was told there was nothing to be done because it was on the interstate. This was several years ago. Just saying.....be careful in that area.

Oh I am praying she gets them back. :( It's like losing a little part of yourself.

I bet the thieves didn't know, because this did not happen at (or close to) a quilt show or exhibition.

Years ago my car got broken in. I had only been away from it for less than 10 minutes. The thieves took everything that wasn't nailed down and then obviously checked later what they got. The police found all my belongings chucked over a hedge in a field about a mile away from where my car had been parked. The only items missing were several audio cassettes. If the thieves expected music, they were in for a surprise. They all contains German language teaching materials.

I very much keep my fingers crossed that these finished and unfinished quilts are found.

We can learn something from this, especially if you intend to move your quilts around quite a bit: Take pictures all the time during the process of making a quilt, so that you have some 'most recent' pictures of evrything for the police.

'Spose they knew what they were stealing? Jerks! (That's the nicest work I could think of.)

Patsy Thompson reports her quilts stolen from her car. If you live in that area (Corbin, KY) keep an eye out at thrift shops, etc.

 :(
