okay, thanks for the info. I guess I will have to change my "avatar" as my beloved Cody is at the Rainbow Bridge. I now have 2 new dogs, a rescue, and a goldendoodle, both pups. Judy in AZ

And some web sites (MachineQuiltersResource.com) have both a profile photo which only shows up on your profile page and an avatar which shows up on the forums.

I like TQS better. Just one for both. I'm so easily confused!

Judy, it's a very fancy word for profile photo to you and I.

I think the fact that some people use drawings and symbols etc, means that the word avatar may be more politically correct, however. Wikipedia says 'an avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the user's alter ego or character.'

Judy, your avatar is the picture of you or something you have chosen to represent you which appears to the right of your blog posts and other places like on your profile. I love your dog! Looks like a sweetie!

I must be so behind the times, but can someone tell me what an "avatar" is? I was reading a blog and "avatar" was mentioned and I have no clue. I saw the movie but I am sure that does not relate. Anyone??????????? Thanks ................Judy in AZ
