Mike, I don't know where the Piont Loma area is but would agree with Scoopie, that Rosie's Calico Cupbaord is a definite must. The shop seems to take up most of the block :-)

We had a cousins reunion there in 2008, but spent most of our time at Oceanside. You would have to drive up the coast a ways, but might enjoy the boathouses built on land in Encinitas and the San Diego Botanic Gardens, also in Encinitas. It was amazing.

Be sure to visit Rosie's Calico Cupboard, 7151 El Cajon Blvd (619-697-5758) for an increadible selection of fabrics! The store has many room of fabrics! Our favorite place to eat is Anthony's on the bay (Harbour Drive). It's a little noisy, but we enjoy the view of the bay and their fish and chips! Seaport Village is a fun place to spend an afternoon. As is the Gaslamp district (shopping!) Then there is always the Zoo and Balboa Park. Balboa Park is where the California Pacific Internation Exposition was held (and built for) in 1935. The buildings and grounds are wonderful! It's always fun to take the Coronado bridge across the bay to the town of Coronado (where I saw the Visions show one year) and then go to the Hotel Del Coronado for a drink or something to eat, and a great view of the ocean. De Anza Park on Mission Bay is a great place for a long walk, bike ride, or rollerblading! Again, with a great view! Another great view is Fort Rosecrans Nation Cemetery on Point Loma, but the residents really cannot apprecate it. My parents reside there. :-(

Hello friends,
My wife and I are visiting her brother and family in the Point Loma area of San Diego. The VISIONS exhibit is on my list. Is there anything else that is a must not miss? Any great quilt shops? Please let me know.
Best wishes,
Mike
