I am thinking Ricky uses hand dyed and those are pre-washed so maybe pre-wash and starching will be okay. I did not have to pre-wash for my wall hanging as it will not be washed but for a bed quilt it needs to be washable.

thanks for any ideas.

I have the Kool Kaleidoscope DVD and he did not mention anything about prewashing.
My Mom and I both made the quilt and it's probably better not to prewash because
you need that fabric to be firm! Maybe you could prewash and starch it.

My DD thinks I do not have enough stress in my life she wants me to make a bed-size Kool Kaleidoscope quilt.... When making this quilt for other than a wall hanging should the fabric be pre-washed. I did not hear what Ricky said about PRE WASHING the fabric in the DVD.

I also thought he discussed the KOOL KALEIDOSCOPE on a TQS episode but I have not yet found it on my DVDs... Does anyone remember which episode?

THank you
