Just a quickie re the markers, especially fabric ones. Store them horizontally in a drawer. They may look pretty on a shelf in colour groups or quirky pots but they will dry out and be useless very quickly if kept upright.
It really bugs me when you see 'professional' studios in photo shoots with rows of upright pens. They must be mostly unusable and they are not cheap.
Ellen,
Buy several markers etc that you think will work and do a test on the fabric that you are going to use. I did that for my Rosary quilt and then decided to trace the letters in pencil and embroider the letters. I found some pens than ran and some that were fine. I was just afraid of being almost all the way done and making a mistake.

Thank you. I did that and I'm mostly looking for the best tools to use for this application. E.g., paint or markers; regular nibs or special nibs, etc. I'll do another Google search.

Does anyone remember which show featured an artist who does calligraphy on fabric? It's something I want to do and I've searched around the TQS shows to no avail.
Thank you for your help!
Ellen
