I had a few non-quilt related things to do. As secretary for my church's convocation, I had to update the meeting agenda and my distribution list, then prepare and distribute the meeting reminder. Also, I had to pot the plants I purchased last weekend for my front porch planters.

I, like Margo, am getting ready for my trip to Overland Park for the MQS show. Seven of us from the St Paul metro area, MN & St Cloud, MN are heading out tomorrow!! I'm pretty well ready to go and because I won't be home for Mother's Day my daughters, daughter-in-law and granddaughters are getting together this afternoon for lunch and girls time. My granddaughters are 8, 5 and 4 and are sweet, energetic girls. My son is in charge of my grandsons, 11 and 1 years old. He and the boys are going to "hang out". Should be a fun afternoon. Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms! :)

To Do list 08 May 2010 07:35 #45561

My "to do" list for quilting is always long but lately it has been:
1. get the 2010 Minnesota Quilter's Challenge Quilt finished--accomplished that yesterday, now just need to photograph it and mail it off to the Minnesota Quilt show

2. Hugs and Kisses BOM- have all five months fused down, one month finished and am doing the stitching on the other five

3. Florabunda BOM (Ellen Russek's that she shows in her member blog)- have all four months fused and am working on the stitching

4. An art quilt that I have loosely titled Mexican Quilt II (It will get a better name later) but it is inspired by a painting I saw in Mexico. I have the pattern drawn and using Vikki Pignatelli's improvisational curves method so have the foundation prepared and the fabrics chosen. I have to wait for my order of Ricky's handdyes before I can go any further as I was missing some colors. What a problem. I HAD to buy fabric!!!!!!! LOL

But for today all the to do's go by the wayside as I go into Chicago to make jewelry with dgd. She is twelve and wants to start her own jewelry business so Grandma is the mentor (and got her started with tools and jewelry findings, Grandpa supplied the $$$$'s sort of since he writes the checks for the credit card!!)

Ann Home is where we park it and today it is Elgin Illinois.

This "to do" is always fun. I just finished a five year long quilt. I need to do the lable and take photos. Then start to decide which shows to enter. Betty Ann

Today and tomorrow I am getting everything lined up for my trip to Kansas City (Overland Park) for the Machine Quilter's Showcase!! WHOO-HOO!!! :D

I have to make sure that everything is taken care of for DH and MIL for them to manage while I'm gone, and get all my stuff packed for the trip.

I'm also going to be visiting with my sister in Des Moines who wants me to help her create a quilting space!! THAT is gonna be FUN!!!

I planted my lillies after work today, so I got that already checked off. I have so much on my to do list that I have made a sub-list...hahaha. I plan to clean out my refrigerator, vacuum and dust my living room and shop one day, and spend one full day machine quilting my brother-in-law's river cross quilt. Hmmm, I wonder if I'll get it all done?....seems like a lot...I think I'll start by sleeping late tomorrow.
