Well...after all the traveling and not exercising, I was scared to get on the scale! But amazingly I have lost 1lb!!!! Yahoo!!! Now it is May and I need to refocus! I will start wearing my pedometer (off on vacation), write in my food journal, drink my water and move, move move! To all of you who are struggling like me, we stick together...we lose together!!!!!! :D

I am 1# lighter today. This is taking so long I'll be 100 before I reach my target weight. I'm finding it hard to get to the fitness center. My days have a tendency to fill up. I feel that is a priority so am making a resolution to fill my days with that first

Well, it is the end of the month, but I wanted to share the good news that at least I have lost the 2 pounds I gained. Now if I can just find a better hiding spot so it can't "find" me again I can continue to go forward! :D

I just got back from 5 days in Viet Nam...lots of walking...lots of food. Been away from exercising for two weeks. A bit afraid to step on that scale on Friday but will do it. I can't stop now....

Isn't it frustrating that we can gain weight and inches so much faster than we can lose it? (Or at least, it seems that way.) My brain and emotions have been stressed because I have a call-back on my latest mammogram, and when I'm stressed, I eat chocolate. I've probably gained two pounds in the past few days! (Note- this has happened before, always on the same side. In a period of about twenty years I've had to have two biopsies - results "benign" both times. It's STILL stressful.) I'll know more after my appointment tomorrow afternoon. :?

Hi All!! I am still hanging in there. Have been under the weather this past week so no exercise. This morning was Curves and measuring....crap! Good news is that I lost 4 lbs since last measurement and an inch off the bust. Bad news is that the fat% didn't change????!!!!! Do you think that little gizmo they have really works??? How can that be possible????

Water ideas 13 Apr 2010 09:57 #44716

What I have found helps me in the water drinking department is to have a large water bottle(the refillable kind) next to me throughout as much of the day as I can. If I think I am getting "hungry", I take a big long drink from the bottle and go back to work. If I am "hungry" again a little while later, I will take a couple of big drinks.

If I am still hungry a while after that, then I will grab a snack, because my body evidently really needs nutrition, not just liquid.

I have been told by my MD, that we usually misinterpret the desire for water as hunger. If you wait until you are thirsty to get something to drink, you are actually putting yourself into a slightly dehydrated state, and generally not taking in enough water at that point to resolve it.

The end of March kind of did me in. We had been out of town and I hadn't been to the fitness center for about 10 days. I had gained 3# and was really bummed when I did get back to the fitness center and found I'd lost a lot of ground in my swimming and lifting. It has taken me this long to catch up. I lost the 3# I'd gained and today I lifted 12,730# and swam 30 laps. The weight would come off quicker if I behaved in the food department. Every night I promise myself that I won't eat the snacky stuff and every day I screw up. Not a lot but enough to matter.

I haven't gained any weight, but sadly neither have I lost a thing for quite a while. I seem to be treading water and not drinking enough of it.... :) I need to get back on track....what is it going to take? Any suggestions out there?

I also have a good report! My weight is still going down--slowly, which is good. My trainer told me that I have lost 9 inches off my body. I still think there is a mathematical error in there somewhere. Yes, my pants are looser, but I didn't think they were 6" looser! Wait. All my pants are elastic waist. Maybe the trainer got it right after all! Yippee!

Still working on drinking water and walking 20 min. a day. Also trying to do exercises at home 3-4 days a week when I do not have workouts.

An added benefit to strength training is that I can muscle around a large quilt for machine quilting without too much pain or exhaustion! Another Yippee!

Keep on keeping on, Everyone! The rewards are there!

No, you're not just talking to yourself. I've not been posting because I initially gained weight, but have finally lost that four pounds, plus another two. It's encouraging when the scales are going in the right direction. Now if I could only get my back to settle down.

Well, hope I'm not just talking to myself.
I have had a much better week this week with getting into the gym and getting good workouts in. AND, Thank the Lord, it shows! I have lost another 2 pounds - just in time for my birthday. Hope that I don't go backwards. Still trying to be good, but birthday cake just has to be had, especially when it's made just for you.
