Hello everyone! I didn't loose any weight this week, but I did maintain. I did water classes on Mon and Wed. I also did one mile on the sitting eliptical on Fri. I hate not getting to do all the walking and exercising, but maybe when the new meds start working, I'll be able to do more. I did very well with my eating. Sat, DH and I went out to eat. I was craving protein. I ordered a steak and DH ate most of it!! I didn't do as well with getting all the water down, I drank about 40 oz a day. Everyone is doing so good!

Hi all, Sounds like you are all being more successful than myself. I have stuck to my WW points all week but gained several pounds. It may just be water retention...sometimes when you lose you gain for a bit, if you know what I mean. If so, I hope the weight loss shows up before Wednesday morning when I have doctor's appointment. Ich! I will say it's been a kind of difficult few days. I lost some friends recently. But that's not the reason, I think, because I have stuck to my food plan...though I haven't gotten into the exercise routine very well. Anyway, a new try this week. I hope the doctor doesn't fuss too much. Cheers, BJ

Oh it sounds like we are all off to a great beginning..... I only lost a couple of lbs, but that was to be expected as I only walked twice this week.... had a grumpy week, so hopefully that week is behind me & I will do better this week....... Have a dinner to go to on Thursday night but the girls I am going with are also changing their livestyles so between the three of us we should keep each other in line  more water this week, and more walking.....also have a new yoga tape I want to start as I enjoyed yoga when I did it before.......... this forum is a big help as it does make me know that I am not alone in this journey............. well gotta go do some dinner before it gets too late..... try to stop that late eating!!!....
Healthy eating everyone................

So glad to hear how everyone is discovering what works for them. Just remember:

Wow! Sounds like all of you are doing great! Congratulations!
I didn't get a chance to post yesterday because I unexpectedly had to go into work and it threw off my groove. LOL.
Anyway, I did lose 2 pounds this past week. This upcoming week my goal will simply be not to gain it back. The reason is twofold. One, I have to work and that always makes it very difficult to eat well and almost impossible to exercise. The second reason is because I have to go back to Durham later today and into the first part of next week due to my Uncle's death. I know we will be bombarded with comfort food.
I have found it much more difficult than I expected but hey, no pain no gain.....wait... that's not right.....let's try this instead... avoid bad foods if you want to lose....that's a little better.

I met all the goals I set for this week! Believe me...I set easy ones :) I drank all my waters and did the exercises!! The exercise ones were the hardest to do cause I would rather be quilting. We got rid of the 'bad' food in the house and ate more 'color' food per Dr Oz. In the process I did lose 2 pounds! I did not even set a weight goal for the first week so that was cool. New goals for next week will be set today and will include more exercise!
BTW my puter is in the shop and wont be home til middle of next week. Sorry I haven't been responding to blogs. I have been reading them and trying to keep up. My keyboard went a bit screwy...might of been that little dab of diet coke spilled on it???? duh Borrowing hubby's right now, but he plays puter games so I can't use it for long. While he is watching football tomorrow I hope to watch the new show with Jenny. Great first week and good luck to all next week. Sandi in FL

week 1 08 Jan 2010 22:30 #42261

Have lost 4 pounds according to my scale. I am praying. I won't get excited until next week. If it is still gone then, with another pound or 2 THEN I will jump for joy.
I have been watching portions and types of foods. (The chocolate covered peanuts are still on top of the upper cupboard.) I have exercised every day this week including starting on a different exercise program to change things up a bit.
Keep going everybody! This is just the warm-up week. We can get healthier together!!!!!

I had a good start this week - I lost 4 pounds (I think I mainly got rid of all the bloating from my eating choices over the holidays).

I did well on portion control, I did ok on water consumption (not great though, with only about half the water I should be drinking), took my vitamins every day, and I didn't get the exercising done like I had originally planned.

I have some improvements to make in my health plan next week - mainly water and exercise, but have a good foundation started that I will build upon!

Thanks, All, for going at this together!

Caarole, I am in the same boat here in Clarkesville, GA. Recommend no getting out unless emergency.

I have a good DVD of Peggy Cappy Yoga for the back which is my companion for the new year.

I too stocked up on groceries so am prepared for all but loss of electricity - and figured if that happened, the doggie would be allowed in my bed! ha

Still maintaining this week...am going to have to exercise with a DVD or my Wii today because our frozen layer of ice (due to a small amount of snow and very cold temperatures) has me "snowed in." Exercise classes were canceled for today, anyway. Our one and only sand truck went over an embankment this morning while trying to sand the main roads in our neighborhood. Good thing I stocked up on "good" groceries on Tuesday, because I won't be leaving the house for another day or so until we get some melting.

I didn't start until Monday and I've already lost 3.5 lbs. I know it's water weight, but I'll take it any way I can get it. DH has lost about the same amount. I hope to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week, and by doing that maybe I won't have too much sagging skin. I'm not counting calories or journaling, just portion control and no fried foods or gravies, also more fruit and veggies. Our biggest problem has been eating out. I do plan to eat out at lunch one day and supper one day and watch what I eat. We have a fabulous Mexican restaurant and I'm having withdrawal for their chips and salsa. DD and I will eat there tomorrow lunch after quilt guild, and I'll have to really watch how much I eat. Mary Kay, you would be proud - I'm drinking much more water. I found some small bottled water at Wal Mart (10 oz. bottles). Having a small container to drink from, it doesn't seem too large a task. By drinking several of those a day I'm good. I just refill the bottles from the tap. Here's to a healthier life.
