I am trying to collect quilting tips of any topic to use for the guild newsletter I write .... Please post your TESTED tips for solving difficult problems you have come across.

I will lead off with:

Quarter square and half square triangles can be TAMED using strips of fusible lightweight pellon.

I was given two quilt worth of TRIANGLES by a friend ( maybe an enemy) The main problem was the triangles were cut so the bias edges were always to the outside of the blocks. This made for wonky blocks that were difficult to use, resulting in a lot of bubbling in the blocks. I solved the issue by ironing one inch strips of fusible PELLON along the BIAS LEGS of the triangles. This tame the stretching out of shape of the blocks. I was able to trim up the stretched blocks. It only took a few minutes and saved me a lot of aggravation. My GF is now jealous since she game me the blocks.

I have also used this method to when I made my ONE WONDERFUL FABRIC QUILT... that is a quilt that had hundreds of BIAS TRIANGLES.
