the trapunto I did on a quilt used fusible web. You trace the design on the web, press to batting and cut out. then you fuse it to your quilt top on the wrong side, sew around the edge of the trapunto then sandwich the quilt. Once it is all together you quilt using the tread line and continue to quilt the rest of the quilt.
It worked out pretty well. I didn't have to worry about accidentally cutting the quilt top while trimming the trapunto batting.

Try Patsy Thompson's website . She does a video on trapunto and try searching the shows here. Ricky did something on trapunto in one of them. It is really simple and sure makes for a more interesting quilt. I hope you get the help you need. Gloria
