TOPIC: QUOTES THAT MAKE YOU THINK

22 Oct 2009 16:58 #39931

I like "Poor planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on my part" Don't know where it came from and might even be misquoted.

This is a funny quote because I know how to cook and am pretty good at it, but do NOT like to cook.

"I only have a kitchen because it came with the house."

Don't know who said it, but:

"That which does not kill you makes you stronger"

Also applicable to unsewing, Maggie!

1-Hanging in my kitchen is the following: Welcome to my loose interpretation of clean.

2- Follow your passion...just not so closely you run over it and don't acknowledge it

My best friend's father had a sign in his office:

"It's nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice!"

Ooo...Betty that was very good. My favorite quote, going over and over in my mind is..

"I have learned that people
will forget what you said,
people will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how
you made them feel."

That just touches my heart!

I have an old newspaper cutting on my bulletin board that says, "you're smart, you'll figure it out" - and I live by that. :D Also, I got a card from a David Walker course I took several years ago that says "artists who wait for inspiration are wasting their time." That's up on my board too.

QUOTES THAT MAKE YOU THINK 21 Oct 2009 15:28 #39846

I love quotes that have few words but much meaning - The few words that get you thinking and linger on your mind. I was watching a PBS show the other day about a glass artist named Josh Simpson. He said this, "As an artist, it is important to find your comfort zone and then stay out of it." I have not been able to get this out of my mind. I must always reach for something beyond what I have mastered. I do not grow if I am complacent.
Do any of you have a quote that you use to motivate or uplift yourself? Please share them with all of us here at TQS. Betty Ann in sunny Florida
