Please pray for the family and friends of two teens that were killed in a car accident last weekend. They are Taylor(female) and Eric and both were 16. There are many people struggling with this right now.

Francis -- when my DH feels the gout coming on we get cherries - frozen or fresh - and they have the acid needed to help with the gout, but be sure to keep a prescription on hand. He will only take it as needed, but for some reason the cherries help.

Take care, Sharon

Thank you everyone for your prayers. It was confirmed last night that he did have gout and not an infection in the toe joint. That was actually good news. If it was an infection, he would have had to be on IV antibiotics for several weeks. He came home last night and I'm trying to make him take it easy.

Well Greg's had a setback. The red in his leg hasn't changed much in the last day or so and he woke up yesterday morning with pain in his big toe. The doctor thought that the infection had triggered a flareup of gout. So he got stuck again so they could do the tests. Found out this afternoon that the test was negative. He was in so much pain last night that he had the nurses call his doctor for pain meds. It took them two tries to find something that worked. When I went in this morning he was still kind of out of it from the meds. Now his foot in kind of pink and it is really swollen. The doctor won't let him come home until the podiatrist sees him to figure out what's wrong with his foot. He was supposed to come by today but didn't make it in. Don't know if he'll come in on Sunday. Greg's getting really tired of being in the hospital.

I visited Greg again this evening and the leg is looking much better. One area that was pink is almost flesh toned again. I still don't think he's coming home tomorrow, there's still too much area that is red. They are upping the dose of antibiotics, the level in his blood was too low. So maybe it'll start getting better, faster. Thank you all so much for all your prayers.

Thanks for all your prayers. Greg is doing a little bit better. His leg isn't as red as it was on Tuesday. It's still not good enough that he can come home. He's on some strong antibiotics so they are checking his blood levels and will adjust the meds. I don't expect him home before Saturday or Sunday.
