Yesterday, I took a machine quilting class from Sue Nickels on how to quilt feathers. It was at the Viking Sewing Center in Ann Arbor, close to Sue's home.
I am a pretty experienced machine quilter, having quilted more than a dozen of my own quilts, but I have never been happy with anything I quilted like feathers or designs.
She made it very simple, and I was very pleased with how I was doing by the end of the day. I wish I hadn't forgotten a lunch because I had to waste some good shopping and sewing time walking over to Panera's over lunch to grab bite to eat. ;-((
VERY worthwhile class -- and a very nice person, to boot!
And you should see her new quilt, which she plans to enter into competition. It is SPECTACULAR!! I can't even imagine how long it took her to quilt that thing!
She and her sister will be back there again on July 11th to talk about their quilting travels, including their trip to New Zealand. Wish I could go, but I have something else going that day already.
