Most of the disc have an hour long explination of various teaching techniques shown.

The FINISHING WELL, alone was over 3 hours viewing about borders, preparing for quilting, machine quilting ( some hand quilting information but less) squaring the entire quilt and various binding techniques.

I bought the whole set and am hoping my DD will watch it once in a while.... she is a wanna be quilter .... but does things HER WAY (wrong way)

She has gotten better everytime I expose her to a new quilt DVD..... so their is hope.

I just went to the website and checked them out. My only question is how do they add up to an 8 hour class?

Have now viewed the entire set.... I see I have some BAD HABITS to correct. I loved the fact she shows every concieveable way to do the triangles and flying geeses.... I never knew there are over 16 ways to sew a simple flying geese block.

Takes a lot of mystery out of using some of the off the wall tools/ rulers I tend to buy at quilt vendors and then can not figure out how to use once I get them home.

THIS IS A GREAT REFERNCE / RESOURCE, especially for quilt guilds.

BTW I loved her Canadian accent.

I did my first miter border thanks to this DVD... one step at a time till all the corners were done. Kept playing the DVD over and over again.

I think I did pretty good and I would not had the guts to try cause I keep forgetting how to do it when I took the class...

(Many months ago)

I found I am a very visual learner and do better when I can see a new techinique repeated.

I hear on the grapevine that there are some problems with Series 4. Apparently Alex looks much too young on screen, Ricky accidentally took his hat off - twice (!), and Justin should have been wearing a fluorescent green shirt in the third programme of Series 4. As a result, editing will take a lot longer. Release of the Series 4 DVDs is now expected sometime in Fall 2011.

Ah well, I guess we all better make some quilts while we are waiting........

I just bought and viewed FINISHING WELL from Patchwork School HOuse.... Joanne Middleton... this is a great DVD to have in a guild library ( any library.) as a reference DVD.

Joanne's explinations were clear and conscise Easy to follow with lots of explination for the proceedures.

The production values for the DVD were good. Sometimes the production values for self published DVDs are shoddy with poor hard to hear audio and poor lighting. This one was well done.

4 hours of video for $45 is a good value for your money... you can watch it several times ... that is why I like DVD lectures.

She has 6- 8 other DVD on other quilting topics... I am thinking I will get them tooooooo

Then I will not have to bug TQS staff to see when the 400 series comes out....

Has anyone heard when 400 comes out... I already have the first three and I am ready for more.
