I loaned my 1st season dvd's to my Mom. They have dial up and cannot view the episodes on line. I told her LOAN!! LOL If she likes them I will buy a set for her. I learned so much from the series and my December challenge is inspired by an episode from series one. Hopefully it will be done in a week, depends how busy work is this week. Sandi in FL
Got the book ... read it cover to cover... started using the techniques.... AM LOVING IT. I think it was just the push I needed to get me over my fear of machine quilting...
I love the CONTACT PAPER templates... so much fun.
Ordered Mary's book from on line today... looking forward to getting it next week.
I am now trying to track down the lightweight pellon that Ricky uses to mark his quilt for machine quilting from the back side... as seen in his GRAND FINALLY DVD.
I am also looking for the wash away fusible / freezer paper in Beth Ferriers segment about machine applique. Both looked like products I will be needing.
I haven't had much chance to watch the DVDs (problem with my DVD player) to remember the Series 1 episodes. I know I've learned several new things on the most recent series. You'll enjoy those when they come available. Winter will be a good time for me to go back and watch the first series.
What DID you learn from DVD (show) Series One and Two ?
I am basing this (forum) thread on the concept many of the regulars saw and loved the program when it was first was shown on the Internet . But some of us only have dial up (like me) that can only follow the show using DVDs. This is forum thread for those who want to discuss what they saw on the shows on the DVDs ( internet too.)
Loving Mary Mashuto’s segment about … FOOLPROOF MACHINE QUILTING. I am running out to get her book because it is coming at the perfect time for me. I want to MQ the baby quilts I have made for my grandbaby. I wanted to do the work myself but was afraid to try…
I now have a simple game plan to do at least one using the method she showed on the dvd.
I am also going nuts looking for the Foolproof Machine Quilting book by Mary Mashuta There seemed to be some really neat ideas for quilting that I can use.
I love the photo guy... I am learning or relearning a lot of the information he give out about photography and printing.
