I think they discussed same things as we are doing...election, their kids, hubbys, economy..anything and everything as we do
And women may have had some discussins on when they would have the right to vote whilst some women didnt want the right to vote at all

Hi All
Once again thanks for the great info. I just want you to clear something up, I started this topic here because i thought it was like sitting around a large quilting frame discussing life and the like. It isn't meant to be about quilting frames is it? if so sorry for going off on a tangent

An election quilt is a very good idea. Whoever wins, it will be a major milestone: a black president or a female vice president.

I enjoy a good discussion about politics...I learn something everytime. I never enter a conversation believing I am going to change someone's mind. Everyone has an opinion and a belief...and the one way to exercise that opinion is to simply vote.
Sometimes your person wins...sometimes not but there is certainly no reason to call folks names or as my grandmother would said...'get your knickers in a knot'. As far as I know...it has never changed anyone's mind...LOL!!

As I said to my son....learn and listen to the positions of those who are running. Simply educate yourself...and vote with knowledge. There are times in a general election I cross party lines.

I think I am going to make and 'election quilt'...red, white and blue. I may put the candidates on it...more of a 'history' quilt for my future grandchildren.

Great discussion!

I feel it is my obligation to vote, as I know that there were many who fought in wars and died so I could some day have the right to vote.

And you know, women would likely sit around the quilt frame talking about current events. We just have a world wide quilt frame.
