TOPIC: Hey to MI Quilters

29 Aug 2008 08:11 #25069

Hi,
I'm planning for sure to go to the Lansing show - even invited an out-of-state cousin to come for a visit and go with me! Now I've re-read the page and does it really say that the fee to get in is so high (50)?? Have you attended in the past, LadyRags? Did I mis-read that? I tried to find a way to email my question to an organizer but wasn't successful.
The show in Novi is always great - but sometimes I have to tell myself to "sit down and sew!" rather than go drool over more future projects. Just cleaning out and reorganizing my sewing room recently (recently retired and cleaned out 10 years of "stashing") showed my just how much I've gotten from other shows but haven't gotten TO!

I'm available as a lecturer/teacher. If you're interested, I'll send you my info.

I just want to give a HELLO to MI QUILTERS... Are you goint to the MQN show in Lansing this Sept 12 to 14th ..... Or are you going to Sew Expo in Novi ? I am hoping to go to both but wont know til later this month.

Ami Simms will have a display of her Alzheimer Quilts at Mi Quilt Network. I also heard the JNKS girls will have a display of their ART quilts. I just heard the JNKS lecture last week and those ladies are a hoot. If you get a chance to go to the lecture do so... you will be impressed with the simple ideas they RUN AMUCK with. .....

My guild is looking for NEW LOCAL MI quilt speakers .... Do you know of any you would recommend? We want to support local quilters/ teacher/ lectures in part because it has become too expensive to get lectures from out of state... so we have gone from 4 OUT OF STATE lectures down to only two a year. If you know of any quilt lectures you were impressed with can you post a note and tell me who and why? Thanks
