Margarita the space is 457 sq. feet including the closets and the bathroom.
Margo, I promise to post the blocks this week :-) All my quilting things have been packed away for what seems like a very long time!

I finally posted some pics of my new quilting studio. I finished unpacking today. My husband is making wood cornices for the windows, those should be finished tomorrow. He is also building me a desk/work area for the back wall behind my sewing table. That should be very handy, I can hardly wait to use my space.
I want to thank everyone who so kindly shared all your ideas and suggestions.

Sylvia,
I have a hardwood floor in my sewing studio. All of my chairs (3 of them) are wheeled, and they don't leave marks at all. It's nice to be able to roll across the floor without problems, especially when the phone rings and I have to stop sewing to answer it. I do make myself get up and walk to the ironing board because it's good to change positions on occasion.

Sylvia, you had asked about what to put under your chair at your sewing machine. We put in a hardwood floor and my husband, a woodworker, wanted to protect the floor. We bought one of those plastic chair mats at Staples. I am so pleased at how nicely my chair (has wheels) rolls on it. Also, my machine's foot control isn't sliding around as much as it did on the carpet. That's a great plus!

Without carpet on the floor the room is a bit noisier. My fabric stash is all in another room. :( I miss seeing all those pretty colors on the fabric wall that DH built for me. I'll have to make a quilt to hang on the wall in front of my sewing machine!

The room didn't look this clean 15 minutes prior, he had just finished pulling up the padding from the old carpeting. I just jumped right in before he brings in the boxes of hardwood. The boxes have to acclimate to the room for about a week before he installs it. He has plenty to do in the meantime :-)

Thank you everyone. I am so excited as you can tell.
Sandi, I showed my DH your post and he just smiled and asked where you live :-)
Patti, the room is off the kitchen/dining room with a hallway in between. There is also a door I can close when and if I choose to.
Thank you Margo for the sentiments. I'm sure you fully understand.

I am so fortunate that my hubby loves finish carpentry as much as I love quilting.
