TOPIC: The Prayer List

25 Aug 2008 16:51 #24879

I am requesting prayer for our son, Alan, and his family, as he has been admitted to the hospital for knee surgery because of an infection in his knee. Apparently it's the result of a scrape he received earlier, and now there's considerable swelling and pain. They are scheduling the surgery now (4:45 p.m. Monday) and he will need to spend the night in the hospital. Pregnant wife Sarah is home with 3 other little ones, so pray for her, as well!

All the above requests in my mind during prayer time. Judy, I have 2 daughters who teach - elementary for one, college for the other. I can't imagine how discouraging this must be for her............and scarry for you!

Ritzy, praying for DD#2 half brother and family.

Nancy, best wishes for more recovery for husband.

And all the others I may have forgotten to mention.

I saw J and family at Mass today, She looks much better. Mom says the dialysis is really working.
Also, DH talked to his brother earlier this week. BIL has had eye problems in the past and and one of his corneas is in really bad shape. He may need to have a cornea transplant.

Judy I thought you were saying your daughter was in physical danger when I first read your post but then talked myself out of that interpretation. I can't believe what teachers have to go through! I'm so sorry that good people have to face such outrageous conditions. I'm praying for her safety.

Hi everyone, I am still around  I am glad to hear that evryone is still here. I feel for every school teacher this day and age by the way. I do not know what is going on with several of these kids. What I do know is many parents just want to have fun and not grow up and do the right discipline thing. Therefor there are no consequences for bad decissions. I also sympathize with your hubby going through dimentia. It is very hard to accept when or mind is not what it use to be. Fortunately your hubby made the right decission to give up his license before some became seriously injured.
By the way for those of you who know about my accident. I just took all my Xrays and MRIs to another radiologist. My Dr. could not understand why I still was in so much pain. Plus they did another Xray. I have 3 compression fractures in my thorasic spine. They have been there all along. Very obvious and they were on every Xray and MRI since the accident. I could strangle the radiologist at that other place.

Judy, I told my husband last night about your daughter. We pray for her safety. Glad she's able to transfer to another school. We are doing fairly well, good days and bad days. It is 7 weeks since the accident and he definitely is better, the back pain isn't nearly as bad, but still there. He uses cold packs when he's sitting in his recliner and they help. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Thank you, Nancy. We talked to our daughter today and she is going to transfer to another school next Wednesday. She filed a police report today. Please keep praying for her safety. It's such a shame this is happening. She is a popular teacher with the parents and they are always asking to get their children into her class. How is your husband, Nancy? I'll keep you both in my prayers. Judy in Torrance

Judy, I sure will pray for Nancy. I have a granddaughter who is an elementary school teacher (4th grade) and she sometimes has trouble with parents. She also has quite a few kids who are either ADHD or developmentally delayed. It sure makes for a difficult time sometimes. I don't think she bargained for this when she was in college. But she's a sweetheart and copes quite well.

Hugs, Nancy in NC

I'm still praying for all of you and for your friends. Please keep my daughter, Nancy, in your prayers, too--she's going through a serious situation with some parents (she's an elementary school teacher). She needs prayer for the Lord's protection. What are our schools coming to these days????? Thanks in advance for your prayers. Judy in Torrance
