Many prayers going out for Texas. We have been watching the saga on the news! Praying for RAIN!

Also, please pray for Terry tomorrow! He goes in for the lithotripsy, where they will try to break up the kidney stones. He will be put under, they will insert a small drainage stent, and they will also remove a large stone that is resting in the bladder. That is a lot going on in some sensative areas. Please pray for a successful surgery, and recovery with no complications! Thank you so much!

Please pray for the people of Texas. There were several large wildfires around the central Texas area yesterday. It has been so dry and when Lee moved ashore into Louisiana yesterday, it sent strong winds throughout Texas. Hundreds of homes have been burned. Two people have died. Everything is so dry here that it is scary.

Mary, It's good to know that you have a diagnosis and Drea is now getting the right treatment. Prayers continuing.

I am so glad that the doctors seem to think they know what is wrong with Drea, and are able to treat her. I'm glad her facial paralysis seems to be a bit better! I will continue prayers for a complete and swift recoverly! Bear hugs for Drea!

Yesterday was a roller coaster day for Drea and the whole family, but we believe we've finally gotten to the correct diagnosis. During the day, DD got a call that the Lyme disease blood test was positive, but was told they should have Drea at St. Mary's by late afternoon as there were other things that could still be the problem. (Evidently the blood test isn't 100% accurate.) They got to the hospital to find out from the pediatric neurologist who had been called to consult on the case that he was thinking possible meningitis, and they wanted to keep her overnight (and quarantine the whole family!) so they could do a spinal tap today. When DD mentioned that a red rash had showed up during the day (which our DDIL had noticed on her first day of providing daycare for Drea), everyone heaved a sigh of relief and said that was confirmation that it indeed is Lyme. She's now on mega doses of amoxicilin for the next 3 weeks, which we hope will do the trick. The facial paralysis seems to be slightly better, so we have our fingers crossed. Of course we are concerned about possible long-term side effects such as arthritis, but so far she seems to be on the mend. Thanks to all who have included Drea and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Dawn , I am praying for you and Terry and your children. I am sure that it is so difficult but there is also strength in numbers and you can help each other.

Prayers continue for all on here, to have the healing they need, and the strength to continue on a touch journey. Hoping all family and friends receive the support and guidance they need to get through this time. :)

Way to go, Dawn. I'm so happy to hear that you and Terry talked with your children about his health condition. :) As a family it will be hopefully easier for all of you to be strong during this part of your journey together. May God bless all of you.

My prayers and hugs are for everyone else here too.

Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend everyone!

Cheers,
Shirley

I just wanted to let you all know, that the time had finally come to tell the kids (4) the news on their Dad's health. I am glad we did not tell them any earlier, because it would have been misinformation. The strangest thing, though, as I have posted updates in the past, it has been as if I have been talking about someone else, I now realize. Now that our own children know, it has become more real to me! So, yesterday was kind of an up and down day for me. I did go to quilt guild in the evening, because there was a lot to discuss with our big show just 3 weeks away. Thank you again for all of your support and prayers. We are headed into unfamiliar territory, but with God's grace, we will be strong and have a better understanding of His plan for our lives.

Sharon, at least the trial is over!! One less thing to worry about. I hope the meeting with the surgeon goes well and that Jerry's surgery goes smoothly and he recovers quickly enough to dance with Laura at her wedding!
NanaPie, I'm saying prayers that Shaun's chemo works wonders without making her too ill in the process.
Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about Drea! I hope doctors can figure it out soon, and I pray that they have the right medication to control it and heal her. Prayers too for your sister's husband!
Hugs to all, Robin
