TOPIC: The Prayer List

Re: The Prayer List 25 Feb 2012 11:18 #76712

Eileen,
93, WOW! I will definitely keep her (and you) in my prayers! I will pray especially that the specialist is one that you and she both will "click" with and that you can get some helpful advice.

I don't know if it's the time of year, or what. I've had some issues with my mother lately. A week ago yesterday, I got a phone call that she wouldn't get out of bed. We got to her, and I tried to find out what was going on. My mother is going to be 93 in a few weeks, and if she doesn't want to answer a question, she won't. Anyway, we got some, not all, things resolved; she's doing better. She has told me that she feels depressed. A few very good friends that I quilt with, and who are members here, advised me to get her to a geriatric specialist. We have an app't this coming Thursday.
I'm asking for your prayers to help my Mom to get over this rough patch. I think she wants to live closer-she's 1 1/2 hours away; I'm an only child, but have 2 kids and a grandson. Maybe she needs family.
Thanks,

Safe flight and safe journey, Pam. You will be a healing force I am sure in Ruth's life. God be with you and Ruth and your family at home. Take heart--you will be covered in prayer while you are away.
Praying for the other needs that have been shared. Cathy is still in the hospital and critical. Pray for wisdom for the doctors to know how to proceed. Her situation is complicated by a medicine she was taking. As far as this being caused by saliva from a dog, I've never heard of this happening to anyone, either. It is scary.
Blessings,
Jane

So glad you are going to stay with Ruth. I'm sure it will help to have her mother with her. I will miss seeing you on the forum.

Pam, I am so sorry to here that the meds your daughter has been on, never kicked in! I will keep both of you in my prayers!

I pray Cathy is getting better, and not worse! I have not heard of this happening before! How devastating!

And, Teresa I will keep your little one in my prayers that the doctors can pevent more bone loss. Actually, my DH Terry, is going in to the oncologist's for a new treatment to help retard bone loss. It will be (some sort of) a shot, administered twice yearly. (I think! TMI at the time.) I would think if he can, and women with breast cancer can get this shot for that purpose, than it could be given in a smaller dosage to a child. Something to check out maybe?

Pam, my heart just aches for Ruth and her struggles. This world can be a dark place at times, but the light of Jesus can reach us in our lowest places. My prayers lift up Ruth and you and your family to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than anything we can ask or think. God has made you a very special mother to be trusted to love Ruth through her anxiety and pain. What a wonderful sister you are to us all!

Pam,unfortunately meds are not all the same. I hope that the docs find one that works for your precious daughter. Not being able to do anything is hard. I always told patient's families that the hardest job is waiting. My best prayers to you and your daughter.
Continue to pray for the deserved others on the prayer list.
