No sewing the last two days... I had to upgrade the web site for my girlfriends shop. I am going to the Davison MI guild quilt show ... there is also one in Caro MI and I am thinking of going there tomorrow.... holiday for me.

I have also been reading Quilter's Catalog ... great book, intersting information.

Still playing with the colors of my bargello quilt and I think I am getting closer to making the final selection.

I finished the machine quilting on that baby quilt last night before heading off to bed. I hope to get started on the twin-size charity quilt that I basted Monday, right after lunch. I'm doing that one on a different treadle--the machine head was made in about 1956, and it uses cams, and I like to use the serpentine one to quilt over the seam lines, sort of like stitch-in-the-ditch, but much faster, since I'm not having to be careful to stay in that ditch.

Good morning ladies, Well the quilt show is done!!!!!! :D I am happy to say I finnished my son's quilt in time, I even bound it. Well, I did spend quite a bit at the vendors booths :D 8) You know some of those quilt kits are habit forming. Well, I will be in the hospital for a few days this week, so there will be no sewing for a while. But maybe when I get back, I can feel good about all your sewing minutes and smile :) Keep up the stitches. Debbie

HI Debbie,
That must be why I missed you at the table. But I probably bumped into you at the venders and didn't know it. Sorry I missed you. The show was a lot of fun.
No sewing was accomplished over the weekend, and will probably be another day before I can get in there. My room is for the moment filled with furniture from the family room. DH spent yesterday putting down the flooring. I was able to get the baby quilt top done last week and is on my design board. Hopefully I will be able to empty all the stuff in my room and take a photo by the end of the day. Cheryl

Yes, we had family and friends over for dinner Christmas Eve in 2004. As the first guest left, he knocked on the window and motioned for us to come out. It was snowing! The next morning, there was 6 inches of snow on the picnic table and all over the back yard, on the trees, the fence, everywhere. I took some pics and sent them to a friend in Michigan, and they appeared that evening on the news in Grand Rapids, MI. We blamed it on my parents being here. They used to travel all over the world, and it would snow in odd places. They went up to a village in Spain and it snowed there for the first time in 500 years. Here in Rockport, it had been only about 100 years since the previous white Christmas, LOL.

It looks as though we'll just feel the edge of the storm, but Brownsville will be right in the middle of it. At the moment, it's sunny here, but can hear thunder, and saw lightning about half an hour ago. We keep our important papers in a couple of file boxes with handles, so all we have to do is put them in the van with the pets and some clothing changes and take off. I had made a reservation in Sugar Land, but went ahead and cancelled it since it appears that we're going to just get some wind and rain here. We're moving all the stuff off the porches and into the house so it doesn't blow around.

Pat in Rockport, who has a few more items to put away.

Pat - I just connected Rockport, TX. My cousin in Ok would vacation there in Dec and Jan. Did you have snow on Christmas a couple of years ago?

Lynn, I see on the weather channel that the outer wave of Dolly is near Houston. Are you getting any weather?

Pat, how far are you from the coast? Will you have to evacuate? What do you take with you? That would be a hard decision for me. Judy in AZ

I should say that I used Sharon Schamber's two board method, but basted with safety pins for the charity quilt I'm working on. I've basted some other small quilts using the DMC thread and that also goes very quickly and painlessly.

Pat in Rockport, TX, still waiting to see if we will need to evacuate for the storm.

Today I am up early thanks to thunderstorms, but I have a lot to do. I found out yesterday my SIL is pregnant, so I am planning her Christening quilt already (you don't have to know boy or girl for that one  ) Yesterday I sketched out the basic idea for a white on white wholecloth quilt with a Byzantine cross appliqued in the center with white satin. My Dh's whole family is Ukrainian Catholic, and while my SIL is currently attending a Roman Catholic church I thought the nod to her eastern heritage would be nice. I called my friend at the newspaper and she told me what I would have to do to get an "end roll" (large roll of leftover newsprint) so I can draft the design at size. Until then I think with the rain today I will be on a race to see how many of the log cabin blocks I can get done today...

Well I pressed and folded about 30 of my FQs. Then I got tired of doing that and went back to my crumb blocks. Got four more done and almost have an 11" square done to cut into fourths again. i may do one more set and then call it quits and get back to work on my quilts for the show in September. I have one top done and one to finish, which I can do while I wait for my sewing machine to come back from the doctor so I can practice with the BSR before quilting both tops.

I decided to just turn Monday on it's ear..... and I started my day with my regular walk with the dogs and DH, followed by one hour of quilting on the Bella before getting ready for work. My "pulling a fast one" on a Monday morning enabled me to miss rush hour this morning too! What a great Monday!   Mary Kay
