Just checked out her website and WOW, she has somethin' for everybody. I love applique and would like to try raw edge. She has some nice patterns and I think it would be a good exercise for using free motion on my machine.

Has anyone tried it? What did you think? Any tips?

Did you ever make your "Applique Affair"? I'm curious because I'm working on that quilt right now, I've got about 10 center blocks to go. I'd love to see a picture of how yours came out! My blocks in progress are in my profile . . . in the Show & Tell area. Kathy B.

I just went to a lecture by Edyta Sitar a young new Michigan quilter that is designing fabric for Moda and works for Laundry Basket Quilts.. .. ...

The lecture was so inspiring and she has been so prolific... I sat in awe of her quilts and her workmanship. She also had a baby DJ quilt but she did her own thing and added a center medallion that was beautiful. Her color and fabric selection was great and she mixed batiks and traditional fabrics in such a way it made the quilts sparkle. I did not think you could mix those fabrics effectively but she has. She showed every type of quilting style imaginable.

I bought one of her applique quilt patterns... APPLIQUE AFFAIR The patterns are definitely European in flavor as Edyta is Polish by nationality ( she had the cutest accent.) I plan to add some of the blocks to the quilt I am already working on. She has directions in the pattern for machine and hand applique ... If you ever get the chance to attend one of her lectures it is well worth the time.
