In fact the sashing seems to calm down the crazy patches and make it seem like it's a much more reduced palette. Amazing the difference between using red(?) on either side of the striped fabric instead of the green. It's really working well now. Congratulations. Thanks Teresa, just saw your comment now.

Thinking for a female soldier (Quilts of Valor) but need another row or big borders. Still have enough sashing to do that. It's crazy and will need a somewhat quieter border I'm thinking. ha

Many blocks make a quilt. My 'busy' blocks are now thinking they want to be in a Quilts of Valor composition. Not all Vets, male or female, want red, white, blue, and God knows my kids don't need or want any more quilts but I keep makin' 'em!

Auditioning sashing! ha Yes, they are busy too. But I'm thinking instead of this green, I need a bold red 1/2" strip on either side of the stripey fabric. A work in progress.
