Lorchen, I'm not so sure about the both hands tied behind my back :D . I just got through looking at the Rhapsody book. It will definitely be an original unless I copy one of Ricky's ideas from the book. I do have a very large stash of hand dyed fabrics, even one dyed at Ricky's studios.

Lotti, we'll just join in the fun along with those who bought early! There might be a few more of us who waited and couldn't get the pattern/kit. I might lag behind, too.....

Hello Kathy, join the club... I was going to purchase the pattern, but decided that with the instructions on the show special and the DVD, I should be able to make my own pattern, possibly a simplified version because I really don't have the time for this quilt right now, and then see if I can make it with the instructions in the summer class. :)

Kathy, I'm sure you can do it with your hands tied behind your back, and then your Rhapsody will be a 'Kathy Original'! :)

Aww, they just got back to me and due to overwhelming demand, they are not going to sell any more patterns. bummer! I'll have to get out Ricky's Rhapsody book and wing it, I guess!

I just went to Ricky's online store and it says that the option to buy the pattern and or kit is closed! I'm going to send them an e-mail, hopefully I will be able to buy the pattern.

Kathy I agree with you and am only taking this on as it is only a small size 44 x 44 which is something I can manage, and these days I find I am more into the machine applique quiilts than the pieced ones.

Yes, the size is an important factor for me :D . I've had so many large quilts lately that it seemed like drudgery instead of fun getting them finished.

I guess Ricky's extra wide printer will be working for hours printing off all those patterns!

This does sound like fun!

Thanks, Margo, I totally missed that! I'm considering getting the pattern and participating. I'm finishing up a bunch of UFO's that now involve quilting and binding them, so it would be nice to have a non-machine quilting project for a while. I've got lots of hand dyes from my dyeing workshop with Ricky 3 years ago plus more that I have done.

I've ordered the pattern and am more than willing to wait until you get back from Route 66 to print the pattern. Your staff was so helpful when I inquired about how I could purchase the pattern. They are the best! I've wanted to make one of your rhapsody quilts for some time, and this is just the incentive I've needed. Thank you for waiting to begin this in order to be able to accommodate more quilters.

Thanks Ricky! I ordered my kit this morning with no problems. Hope you are getting "your kicks on Route 66". It is sure a beautiful and diverse country (and world) we live in. Have lots of fun. Wish I was along for the trip.
