Awesome block!

Am looking forward to watching the last couple of shows next weekend when I'm back home with good and quick Internet service... Here I have no chance to watch the shows, just waiting for the forum posts to load can take considerable patience!

Great job on your block! I was very intrigued by Ann Petersen's paper piecing technique and had to try it right away. It works like a charm and, as you said, no paper to peel off. I also like Ann's '5-pin' for curves tip. This was an awesome episode!

Thanks!

I am looking forward to Ann's presentation.

I am also looking forward to being able to watch the shows again. It has been very frustrating to watch the circle go around and around...
It's not just the quilt show that is giving me the trouble...that is why I am getting my computer serviced TODAY!

Daisyandjack, I assume you want to use those units in New York Beauty blocks, if you want to sew these units together into a circle you will have four seams in the background fabric. If you want to try that, you might want to watch my videos about paper piecing the current BOM to see how to eliminate those seams.

Here is the one about using freezer paper for the foundation: learn/classrooms/

Ann Petersen will be speaking at League of Northern Colorado Quilters (LNCQ) on Monday night (7:00 p.m. MDT) I am not a member, but you can believe that I will be there! You can check out their web site for location information, etc. [www.lncq.org] The meeting is in Fort Collins, Colorado.

"June 3, 2013: Fix It, Mistakes I Have Made - Lecture by Ann Petersen who says some of her best quilts were better due to needing to fix a mistake. She will show these quilts and explain what went wrong and show she made the quilt better."

Diane Frank

Post meeting note

Ann included the quilt sample that she made for the quilt show episode...to show how she made a mistake and how she fixed it. At least 3 TQS members know what she did because we were in the audience. Fixing mistakes, gotta love it. :)
