Re: binding with color piping on EDGE of quilt 17 Mar 2013 20:39 #98926

Many thanks - it is indeed on Ricky Timms DVD which I have watched and is probably worth the purchase. I also viewed the Faux Piping tutorial = which may be a better starting point for me. Again - many thanks = and good night. Mary

Ricky demonstrates his mini-piping technique in his Grand Finale DVD. It is available to TQS members until the end of March

and you can purchase a copy from him here: http://www.rickytims.com/online-store?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=2&category_id=2

It is full of great information and is a wonderful addition to any quilter's library!

Was it on Ricky's Grand Finale DVD which is on the main page? Margo also does a faux binding which is pretty cool.

binding with color piping on EDGE of quilt 17 Mar 2013 20:14 #98915

I was watching one of the quilt shows - wish I knew what number or series - and one of the segments was Ricky (? I Think) demonstrating a method of putting piping on binding so the piping was the edge (perimeter) of the quilt - Of course I didn't bookmark it,nor can I find it again. Any help?
