I finally bought myself a cutter that automatically closes itself after I had tried to cut by pressing down on the top of the blade once too often with my finger. I also confess that I haven't had the time to watch this latest show, but hearing all the comments about it I will try and get to do that today. Have a great weekend sewing everyone. :D :D :D

I noticed the blade faux pas, too, but figured it's probably stressful to do your work in front of the camera. I'm a stickler about the blades at home, but I'm always afraid one of my cats will jump up on the cutting table and get cut. They know they're not allowed up there when I'm working, but the consequences are too bad for me to take chances!

I loved the show with RaNae Merrill. I usually close my rotary cutter (My cuts heal, but when I accidently cut my fabric I had to go buy more). If I am not closing the cutter, I make sure it is out of the way of me and the fabric. I will be looking for RaNae's book this weekend.

perhaps all guest could use the automatic rotary cutters that are also more ergonomic!

Naughty girls! I'm a very chaotic quilter, but closing the rotary cutter after every cut has become automatic. If you have problems with that, I strongly recommend that you buy yourself one of the cutters that closes automatically..... And now I'm off to have a look at that show........

I hadn't noticed the oops with the rotary cutter, but then I am usually guilty of the same charge on my sewing table. Loved how the complex was broken down to lots of simple stages, especially the designing elements, I need (want) a couple of hinged mirror tiles for the fun ideas they show. 8)

I noticed the oops! with rotary cutter also and found it odd that there weren't any breaks with our usual sponsors and no tour of that great place!

I love it when a quilt artist can show us how truly simple a complex design can be when we understand the process. Start with the basics and then tweek it. What fun. Betty Ann

Am I being picky?
I enjoyed the Renae Merrill show 1003 but when she used the rotary cutter she didn't close it afterwards, very dangerous, and her hand was quite near at times.
I was taught to always close the cutter.
Good show though as always on TQS

I've had her first book for a while now. Haven't had time to make anything from it, but I get it out periodically just to salivate...

I'm at a loss to describe in words how much this show opened up my eyes to the possibilities. This was one incredible show. You need to stop what you are doing and go watch it now. Don't walk, run!!!!

Off to look for the books as well. :)
